Don't say anything to him and tell the teacher that he is really distracting you from your work in class and ask to be moved.

It sounds like there might be a personal problem going on with him. When I was young my parents were poor and my mother smoked. So I went to school wearing the same clothing and smelling like smoke, but I couldn't help it. If it bothers you too much, I would maybe ask if you could move, but give another reason for it. If you say that you want to move because he stinks, it will really embarrass him.

Well what I would do in this situation would be to go to the teacher after class and ask if I could move aand tell her the reason but please don't do it in front of him caus he might not beable to help it. There are poor people out there in the world and the world is cruel so don't be cruel just do it kinda secretively.

he probably comes from a smokers family, you can handle this discretly, and approach your teacher after class and explain the situation to your teacher and ask him or her to asign you a different seat for health reasons,
