I would advise not trying to make yourself go into labor, but I do know of one sure way. Its gross, or at least it was for me. I had 4 days to have my son, so i went online and looked up ways to start labor. I found this "Semen, when ingested (swallowed) is 10 times more effective in starting labor than when it is just absorbed through the mucus lining of the vagina" needless to say my husband was very happy at trying that out. we did, 30 minutes later my water broke, and an hour and a half later my son was born. With my second son, we did the same thing, 12 hours later my water broke, and my son was born 5 hours after that. Now with that being said, her body will go into labor when it is ready and no amount of trying to make it before it is ready will work. My body was ready, (1-2 cm dilated both times and past 36 weeks)

Sounds like a myth, I've never read that in any pregnancy books.

I have read that drinking chamomile tea can increase the production of Oxycontin, the labor hormone.

Also, a new study shows that having sex acctually prolongs labor by two weeks. It is a myth, that it speeds up labor.

Not that I know of. They tried everythign with my daughter's last pregnancy.

Stripped her membranes (3 times)
Walked alot
Sex
Bumpy roads/Railroad Crossings
Etc.

Finally went into labor when they ruptured her membranes in the hospital. 2 1/2 hours later she delivered a beautiful baby boy 8lbs 3 oz.

Well, that's one I never heard before.

Give her some Thai food and go for a long walk. If it's not too early, ask the doctor to strip her membranes.

as long as she is "walking the mall" or the local track it will work.. so what I am saying is...nothing works like walking and walking and walking.
happy trails and congrats on the arrival.
