I can tell you why...for the same reason all these other marriages keep busting at the seams; without the One who created the institution of marriage, as the head of the marriage IT WILL NOT LAST! It is rare if EVER that you hear Hollywood couples (or couples period nowadays) reference God in their marriages. Marriage is not all about money, sex, having cute cuddly babies, lavish weddings etc; it's a commitment! The commitment is not just to the "person", but 1st and foremost to God. The bible says not to make a promise to God that you can't keep, and all marriage is, is a promise to love, forsake, honor, etc.

If people had more relevant relationships with God and stopped looking for something they are never gone find hopping from pillar to post, all these short lived relationships would not exist.
