My range is 5 years old. It is a Frigidaire electric, ceramic top, drop in model. My husband installed a new microwave above the stove a couple of days ago. We soon noticed that the clock on the stove was not working, oven light, in fact, nothing was working. I turned on the burner and the clock came on and also the oven light then worked. The burners and oven did not. Turned off the burner knob, back to no power.
My husband probably hit a wire when looking for a stud for the microwave. I called an appliance repairman and he did not know how to take the stove out and was afraid of damaging the cabinets.
I know the stove sits on the counter and also has a anti tip device either on the sides or in the back. I need to know how to remove the stove &/or who to call first. Should I call a authorized dealer to remove the stove and check the power and then an electrician if needed? Should we try and remove the stove ourselves and call an electrician? Guidance & wisdom would help

I would remove the microwave as you may have a screw shorting out the wires. If the stove works with the microwave out then I would put the microwave back using a new screw location

actually according to new electrical codes that are adopted by Insurance Underwriters There should be 4 wires for range/oven combinations. Now since you have only installed a cooktop range you don't need the white wire because you have no Oven controls or clocks that would need the Neutral wire to operate. DO NOT move your neutral wire it is fine to tie the Green ground wire to it.

yea, do what aussie said first,
if that doesn't work it sounds like you need electrician.
the stove is 220, the microwave is 110?
they should be on separate circuits.
