don't know about that yet because halo 3 isn't even out yet. For sure Gears of war is better than halo 2.

Halo-3 isn't out yet but I think we can try to answer using Halo-2. I've played Gears of War on a 52" Hi-Def TV and Halo-2 on the same. The story on Gears is compelling but the action on Halo-2 on line is fantastic. If Halo-3 lives up to its promise then my vote goes to Halo-3. Plus the screen shots of Halo-3 on-line are killer!

Ive seen both previews for Gears of War and Halo 3 but they don't tell if they're better than each other completely, although Gears of Wars was out already, the players will see how it goes, and for the Halo 3, you can't just tell from previews if it'll be a great one, even though the older versions of Halos where great, it's unpredictable to tell if game that looked great will suck or will end up as game of the year but I know every Halo fans are psyched up to see and play the new Halo 3 when they see a better preview like a game play one, hopefully. So to me, overall, it's a tie, it's up to the gamers to decide ( since I'm not a big fan but I play it on-line) which will be the new or retaining game of the year, graphics wise anyway, they're both great, game play wise, we have to see it to believe it.

Halo 3 aint even out yet.
but i think halo3 would be better or good to if they pick up some ideas from gears of war to make it more real.
and the next gears of war should expand on there multiplayer like halo2 did.
