I know a couple of people who are intellectual,are in great shape(physically) ,and artistic as well. Would that fit the bill of being a renassaince man?

It sounds close. Usually a Renaissance man is one who has knowledge of a variety of fields--e.g. philosphy, science, art, literature etc.--someone like Leonardo Da Vinci.

A Renaissance man/ Universal person is adept in all fields excelling particularly in the arts and sciences.
