don't be afraid to say ******...who cares its a word blah once a ethnic person gets pasts the 'victimization' faze in their lives the word shouldn't matter,and calling someone a ****** doesn't always refer to color.

The word will never stopped being used by rappers and comedians. Not only has the word found a positive place in black culture. It is also still offensive. Much like the shock jocks on radio, rappers and comedians often use egdy words to shock audiences. For that reason alone, these "professionals" will keep using the words as long as it evokes a reaction.

That's a good suggestion! It's too "loaded" and there are too many "rules" about who can say it and when and in what context! It shouldn't be used at all, IMO.
However, I don't think ALL people would forget about it if only rappers and comedians stopped using it. Don't forget the legions of white racists who use it all the time!

Probably not. I don’t know y they use it so much and then take offense when someone else calls them that. It confuses me so. Like my neighbor, they moved in about 3 yrs ago and they are black. Right when they moved in, they started calling the cops because of this guys dog that kept on barking. The guy put the dog in the house but they said that they could still hear it. So they took him to court and he had to get rid of the dog. Now they're playing the racism card b/c one of my other neighbors said " it was better when you people didn’t live here" and its true. I don’t care if they are purple with pink dots. But yet they can call me a little white chick! I don’t get it!!!!! Sorry had to vent!

I hope not, its too funny, besides that word is almost on the same level as dude! Man thats f****ing funny. We all use the word, it has a different meaning whereever you grow up. To me and Im "white", it means that someone is a waste of space but I believe that ******* come in all shapes colors, sizes, and races. It classifies people with the urban mentally of a low level ganster who live of the misery they create. Hill jacks or Trash, white or not refers to the Rural mentality of a low level ganster who lives off the misery they create. Any perceived offense is created in the mind of another individual based on what they believe the word means, But i do say it with the same way i say both words in a negative fashion, i cant use it as dude its not who i am. But either way I hope it and all other slurs etc. stay around we need them to spice up conversation.

I hope they stop using it but its an addictive word even if theres no black people around people from other races use it just as much as us black people do !!! well here in cali they do i dont Know about other places !! take me for example i Hang wIth all asians and they say it even if i don't ... which i try very hard not and i've been successful but somtimes i slip !!

Some people feel that it takes the sting out of the word and renders it meaningless. They're basically taking a weapon used against them and turning it into something less harmful.
However, there are also many people who want to see the word completely irradicated. I certainly don't blame them for that.
If you're trying to blame black people for racism against themselves, I think you need to do some more research and hear some more opinions from black people themselves before you come to that conclusion.

Actually, they use a different version (ends with an "a" rather than an "er"). By using it, they have seized control of the word from racists.

It's not the same word. There is a difference between n*gga and n*gger. Mr. Richards clearly said n*gger.
