All you need is a Master's degree in clinical psychology or marriage and family therapy. Unlike the person above me, he is incorrect in that you need a license to be a psychotherapist (I am one). Just get a Bachelor's in psych and then branch out to a Master's or if you are really ambitious go straight for a PhD or PsyD. If you want to do more research and things of this nature you need a PhD, but if you are more therapy minded, you would enjoy an MA or the PsyD route. Hope this helps!

Psychotherapy can be practiced by a number of different professionals. Psychologists, marriage and family counsellors, social workers, psychiatrists, etc. may all do psychotherapy. I would think that the minimum requirement would be a Master's Degree. You should look for a training program that emphasizes clinical training. (A degree in experimental psychology, for example, would not prepare you to do psychotherapy.) Also, since psychotherapy is not usually a regulated activity (you have to have a license to be a psychologist) make sure that any training program you consider is "legit." An online degree that offers one year of training would not prepare you properly.
Good luck!

Head game con game where do you get qualified you should be a court judge that way you have a verdict and it is a judgment so it has power, being a therapist is for soft-kills, leaves bad taste in victims mouth after they eat crow
