Why are people wanting to censor the book "The Giver"?

I dont understand why a book with great themes should be censored. Whats the point? There is nothing wrong with this book that isnt shown on the news or other books.

Sometimes the truth hurts -- I guess thats whats happens when you don't march lockstep with PC doctrine
