Fetal heartbeats usually show on a sonogram around 6 weeks. They should be able to diagnose the multiple pregnancy at about the same time. Good Luck.

I had an ultrasound at 9 weeks and I was able to see the baby's heart rate! My doctor was also concerned about the whole twins idea and they didn't see a twin..however my ultrasound tech said sometime they can't see the other till later on because they hide back to back sometimes..so I'll know in 2 weeks when I go for another ultrasound..Hope I helped!!

At 7 weeks I saw the heartbeat on the ultrasound. But they say you can see it at 5 weeks since thats when the heartbeat develops.

At 6 weeks, your healthcare expert could have the potential to stumble on if there are 2 gestational sacs utilising a transvaginal ultrasound. 2 gestational sacs does not continuously mean there are 2 embryos. At mid 7 weeks, utilising a transvaginal ultrasound, you're able to have the potential to stumble on heartbeats. At 6w2d, my RE observed 2 gestational sacs with 2 yolk sacs. We additionally heard the two heartbeats at 7w2d. Goodluck on your being pregnant.

well i went in for my sonogram at what i thought was 5 weeks and ended up being 9 weeks 6 days and i could see the heartbeat- couldn't hear it with the doppler yet though- and you could definately tell i am only having one. You could probably tell if you are having twins in a week or so...

You can see a heart beat about 7 or 8 weeks. You "might" see both sacs at that time too if their were twins. I know my friend saw her twins at that time. It was an internal ultrasound though.
