In the room where we keep the cats' litter boxes, everything is covered in dust. Is there anything that removes dust from these items (other than a dust rag)?

Will one of those air cleaner/purifiers work? Is there anything to prevent the dust from settling in the future?

You might try a different brand of cat litter, one that's cleaner. You're never going to eliminate the dust altogether, though. Try the blue Swiffer dusters, they are great things.

NEWS ALERT--Hey, check out Swiffer's "Clean Scene" demo. Check out the link, bottom right side. It looks like they also have something to trap allergens.

If you want to use an air purifier, the best type to use would be an ionizer. You should also consider getting a new cat pan. We have the kind that has a lid, with a flap (like a pet door) to get in and out. There is less smell, less dust and less tracking.

Get a Rainbow vacuum cleaner. They clean the air by running it through water. Vacuum with it, replace the dirty water with clean water, then just run it without vacuuming. Leave it running every time you dust for about 15 minutes after you dust. Keep your windows and doors shut.
