Is the length of a womans periods an indication of how fertile she is and what should the hormone levels be in a fertile woman?

This is a more complicated question than you might think, as there are several factors.

The length of the cycle itself is not the important part. What IS important is how far into the cycle ovulation occurs, and how long after ovulation that AF shows again.

Ovulation shouldn't occur any earlier than day 10 - if it does, the egg isn't mature enough and the lining of the uterus isn't thick enough to sustain a pregnancy. If it happens too late (which involved the second part of my statement), the egg is old and too deteriorated to be viable.

There should also be no less than 10 days between the time ovulation occurs and the time AF shows again. Less than 10 days means that the egg isn't being given enough time to implant (because implantation takes place 7-10 day after ovulation). It can be longer than the standard 14 days - the longer the better, actually, because the egg has more time to get comfy if it's going to.

Hormone levels are going to depend on a lot of things. There are a lot of hormones to be checked out, and the "correct level" will depend on when in the cycle they were taken. If you want more information, feel free to Email me and I'll help where I can.

No the length doesnt mean anything although if she is bleeding heavy for a long time, it may be an indication of something wrong. Hormone levels im not sure of but if the hormones were off it would probably cause abnormalities in her cycle

I've never heard of it being an indication of fertility levels myself. I think the main issue with periods and fertility is how regular they are rather than their length.

No. Some women bleed for just a couple of days, some for a week or so, and it can vary throughout a woman's life (it often changes after a pregnancy or if she starts/stops using hormonal contraception). *Regularity* of menstruation however may have some bearing, as it suggests that she's probably ovulating regularly, although this is by no means conclusive.
