$13.75 is actually a lot of money out of high school. I'm sure he's loving it now, having a decent amount of spending cash.
In the long run, he has no job stability, and even $13.75 is very little to live off of.
From a financial standpoint, its probably a bad idea...bu I can't say its a mistake, since some people are perfectly happy like that.

It might look good now, but how will he work as a blue collar worker in the future? With a family and kids? $13.75 doesn't go very far with additional mouths to feed. I truly believe everyone should get as much education as possible. Regardless of job.

I think in a few years he will be sorry. $13.75? Does he think that is GOOD money? And doing factory work? Yikes! That is chump change, not to mention when he gets older he won't think it is so great to have to go work long hours in a dirty factory.

yes for now he might be happy right now as to him at the moment 13.75 an hour seems alot, but when he wants to get married, buy a house and have and raise children,he will realise it's not that much.

If he likes it, then great. This country needs un-educated grunt workers who will work for low pay in order to compete with other countries. I would never choose a life like that for myself. I feel that the extra effort of completing high school and going on to college was well worth it (in pay and quality of life). Best of luck to him in the future as high school drop outs are not what most employers are looking for.

Wow he makes 13.75 an Hour!!!
I have an MD and lets see what I make
$5,000 a week X 48 weeks = $240,000 a year your friend only makes 13,000 roughly. So that's a difference of 227,000 a year. See it pays to go to college!!!

i think your friend is retarded personally. Atleast tell them to get their GED. not having school will be awesome at first, but how fun can working at a factory be. assuming they work 40 hrs a week 52 weeks a year they wont even be hittin 30 grand before taxes and whatnot. thats not so much

If he wants to, he can get a GED and go to college. It's really up to him what he wants out of his life.
A lot of the factories are moving over-seas where the labor is cheaper, so it's really not a job he can feel secure with.
