I think my role as a mother and wife is a little old fashion. I stay home with my 10 month old and my husband is the bread winner. When he gets home from work, I have the house straighted up and get dinner ready. Sounds a little June Cleaver, but really it is just what makes sense to us.

I like to think that I'm current and "hip" to new things, but some "old-fashion" things we do in our house. #1, we eat dinner at least 5 nights a week around the table with no phone or t.v. #2 my kids do chores at home because they live in our home too, not because i pay them an allowance. They can do extras to earn money, #3 my kids fall asleep without the help from television. t.v.s are off in there rooms by 8:30 on school nights. It works for us and the kids seem more grounded and all of them do Great in school.

I am SO old fashioned!
I secretly long to be June Cleaver - stay at home, cook, clean, garden, play cards in the afternoon with my neighbors, everything but the sleeping in seperate twin beds with my husband part!
I HATE the way the world has become where I am a mother of 3 forced to work and put them in day care just to barely make ends meet!

Child rearing: I am an old fashioned parent teaching respect and discipline.

Work ethic: I'm an old school worker who puts in a good day and doesnt expect the world to give me anything.

Love: I stick with the woman I gave my Vow to.

Manners: Treat others how you would like to be treated

I believe that people should honor their wedding vows.

I believe that the family is the most important pillar of a healthy society.

I believe that it is each individual's duty to be charitable and help those in need, not the government's duty.

I used to be a pretty hardcore liberal. I've since become far more conservative, like my parents.

In these ways, and I'm sure there are others, I consider myself to be 'old-fashioned'.

I don't know if this is old fashioned or not but...

I think people should get married before they have children not after. I also think people should not live together before marriage. Shacking up, oops sorry, living together is not a good barometer of how married life will. be.

Not looking for sex from a woman before marriage and also no gay marriage, forever until the end of time.

Plus, I agree with virtually everyone else on here who is old fashioned.

NOTE:

This, in my opinion is the best post with the best replies I've ever seen on this board, and it is very encouraging and delightful to see that there are some really great Americans out there still!
