I have a moded Xbox which allows me to copy games to a larger harddrive which I had installed into the xbox. This past weekend I was trying to copy Tony Hawks Project 8 but it kept failing to copy. I have plenty of space on my harddrive still. Does anyone know if game makers are doing anything to the game disks that would resemble what they have done with DVD's to stop the unauthorized copying?

I had that problem as well with some other games, they were not copying properly onto the hd. What I did, was put the game disc in the xbox drive n then connect my pc to it through ftp. I would then transfer all the files on the game to the computer, through ftp. Then, I would transfer them back onto the xbox hd, in the games folder. It would work perfect for me, and you could choose specific files you wanted to copy, instead of having to copy the whole game. It was a little pain, because you had to do it all, and not just click copy disc and let it copy on its own. By the way, I used UnleashX and I had mine softmodded.

i've had that problem with several games on my modded xbox and the problem was almost always an issue with a dirty or damaged disk. make sure there's nothign wrong with the disk before you try and copy it. other than that i don't know what it could be unless there's a new protective encryption on the disk that the copy program you're using dosen't recognize
