My family came to the United States from Oslo Norway many many years ago. My mother and grandmother were never short on stories about the culture in Norways and holiday traditions. Unfortunately they told me most of these stories etc when I was a teen and not even slightly interested. I didnt retain much of the information and regret it terribly. Mother and grandmother are both gone now as are most of my Norwegian relations here in the United States and I have no way of knowing how to contact family in Norway. I have a beautiful 11 year old son whom I'd like to teach a few things about our heritage, including holiday traditions...we are VERY big on the holidays. Can anyone tell me how I would contact pen pals in Norway? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I've found penpals from Norway on friend SHACK http://www.friendshack.com. I just looked and there must be at least a 100 profiles of people from Norway (not sure if they are in Oslo) You should try there or some other free penpal site. Good luck.

Norway is one of my favorite countries! Sorry I don't know any good references for penpals though. A lot of Scandanavians post on the Yahoo Germany answers page. Maybe post your question there and see if someone can direct you to a penpal site. Check if there is an international My Space? Just be careful before you give out too much personal info.

I had numerous pen associates that I were given from a 70s practice stated as the massive Blue Marble. I had ones from France, Malaysia, Trinidad, Ghana, and Sweden. i appreciate writing and employing neat stationery. no one needs to do letter writing a lot presently. The stamps on my letters were impressive. Such exciting.

A great way to reach out to people, is through a popular website, known as MYSPACE. Myspace is worldwide and has recently added several UK additions to its site, although it is based, in I believe, California. Don't qoute me on that though haha. Good Luck with your search!
