The computer makes you choose a brand and model from a list and dell isn't listed. Is there any way i can get around this?

If nothing else (I used to work for dell and when I worked there there was no support or drivers for Apple OS systems), you could install the new software from apple called Boot Camp and get a copy of a windows XP cd (not an upgrade version) and install windows XP on your apple system in order to use the printer.

the first answer is rigth its windows based and dell based both will not work with apple i would not try to put windows in a mac sometimes it work but boy if it dont your are done you need to get a mac printer bottom line

Dell is Windows based...won't work on Apple.

try loading the driver for the Dell printer.

first answer is nonsense, pretty much everything works with a Mac.
