Suppose you were looking for some important information on a certain subject. You contacted all the so-called experts in that field. They gave their opinion. You acted on it and told others your decision. Later, you found out they were wrong. Did you lie, or just pass along wrong information?

How can I pass this along to Nancy Pelosi?

The legal term is that you "acted in good faith". In other words you took all reasonable steps to obtain the correct information and acted upon it accordingly.

As long as you can demonstrate that you had no knowledge or expertise in the subject yourself and were therefore dependent on the advice and information of others who were recognised experts in that subject then you cannot be held personally to blame for your actions.

Now perhaps you'd like to tell us what you did? lol

I believe you have just answered all the questions the Liberals have on if Bush got us into an "illegal" war. Good way to phrase a question. You go with the information that you have, and if it ends up being wrong in the end, you were misinformed...that is how Intel is...but the Liberal Media has to have a battle cry do they not?

You simply passed along wrong information. I dont know what the official definition of lying is but I do know that it would have to be a false statement designed to INTENTIONALLY decieve or mislead. If you didnt mean to decieve....than you didnt lie.

When you reported the information it was true as you knew it. So I would say that you just passed on wrong information.

My definition of a lie is that it contains all of the following elements:
- The statement is factually inaccurate.
- The speaker is aware that it is inaccurate.
- The speaker utters it with intent to deceive.
- The intended deceit is for the speaker's advantage or the listener's detriment.

In the case at hand, it is obvious that only the first requirement would be met.

You did not lie. You were just misinformed. Sounds like what happened to President Bush.

You are still at fault. You didn't check out your resources and get opinions from other experts.
