You have to go somewhere and collect them.

If they are not used for improving one's condition, then they act as an incentive to defraud the government (Free rider). Secondly, the tax payer pays the bill (Tragedy of the Commons). The money could be diverted to investments that help those needing help. Third, it is a burden to the welfare worker. Case loads are high enough. There are more reasons.

Gosh this is a hard one, simply because the issue with welfare is so deep. Welfare was made to help people get by, such as families who don’t make enough money or even single people who don’t make enough money. Nowadays, welfare has really become almost a way out for most people.

Here is an example of what I mean.

I was just down at the Job and Family Services today, applying to get food stamps. Now see, I have been working since I was 15 years old (I'm 21 now) but just recently found myself unemployed. So I took the dreaded trip down there to apply and what I seen made me so mad. The majority of people down there were dressed in name brand, expensive clothing, and shoes, designer purses, and six kids trailing behind them. Me, I wear clothes from Wal-Mart and Target, and I have made my living by working. Even while working I could not afford Coach purses, $150 Nikes, and stuff like that. How is it that these women, unemployed, on welfare with myriads of children can afford this stuff? I will tell you why. Abuse of welfare.

These women have all these kids and just expect the government to take care of them. They get a check every month, food stamps, free healthcare, subsidized housing, subsidized childcare and even an endless supply of money so they can go to whatever college they want to. And they are driving brand new expensive cars/SUV's.

Bottom line, the disadvantage of welfare is that it isn't used for what it was created for. It is supposed to provide help to those who temporarily need it due to loss of a job, illness, etc. Not for the scum that it services these days. I say quit giving welfare to these women who keep having kids by 6 different "baby daddies". Cut them off. Tell them to go get a job. Welfare should be used TEMPORARILY to aid those who need help getting back on their feet. Why can’t some of these lazy baby making women take responsibility for their actions. You have a kid, you work your butt off to support it, not run down to the welfare office and hop right on public aid.

If you don’t want kids, can’t afford to care for them, or don’t know the baby's father, keep your legs closed!!!!

ALSO, IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY THIS, IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE YOU ARE ONE OF THE PEOPLE I SPEAK OF IN THE ABOVE PARAGRAPHS. ALSO, DONT BOTHER EMAILING ME WITH YOUR COMPLAINTS, THEY WILL REMAIN UNREAD AND PROMPTLY DELETED.

It's not a get rich quick scheme. People who go on welfare expect a high standard of living and easy way out, but sadly they have only poverty and money strains and the charity of others to look foreward to.
