I caught a cold about 48 hours ago, and have since slept about 24 of those hours. Is there anything unhealthy about that? I get up and stretch, drink water, eat soup, take vitamins, and then go back to sleep again. I feel like I am getting stronger, but still needing rest. I am under a lot of stress with my son and his wife and their 2 baby girls having just moved back in our home for financial reasons. I think my body is telling me to give it a break. Am I on the right track?

The body will take only the rest it needs. Just sleep and drink plenty of fluids and you'll be alright.

Sounds like you got a good process going. If you don't feel like sleeping then take a break from it but stay as warm, anaerobic and nourished as you can. The more water you drink the better your decongestant medicines will work. Cold-Eeze cough drops work well at ending the sickness sooner, but its not healthy just to take them all day so I'd also recommend getting Halls with that liquid vapor center because they feel great! My mom also said to me while I am getting over mine to keep drinking fruit juices like orange juice and to steer clear of dairy products because they send your mucus production skyward which will keep anyone coughing.

To treatment a chilly, on the 1st signs and indications of a runny nostril or a sore throat, i'm going to drink numerous orange juice or consume oranges and take Echinacea that's a organic extract. i'd say that this works a large variety of the time for me so I not often have an entire blown chilly.

Feel that sometimes low level illness is simply the bodys way of saying you need rest!

Colds come in a variety of states so have to moniter as you go along.....if not better within the week, seek medical advice.

Feel better soon!

That is the best medicine!! You can't do anything better for yourself when you're sick. Continue resting, and taking lots of liquids, you'll be better in no time. It's the people who refuse to take it easy that stay sick forever.

Now...go back to bed, and get better soon!
