You could try "Justin Thyme". It came out about a month ago, I think. It's my kids' absolute favourite book at the moment!

Lemony Snickett books.
They are an easy read, and amusing.
More on the 5-6 years old, try Ricky Ricotta (spelling?). It is a series. Eragon is one my kids like at 10, but it is considered an older book.
One of my sons loved 'My Side of the Mountain' at 8.

Roahl Dahl, The Twits, Goerges Marvelous medicine, Charlie and the Chocolate factory, Jame sand the Giant Peach, all awesome books.
Roahl Dahls books are always very imagnative and never patronise, but the plots aren't too complicated for younger kids to follow either.

Roald Dahl is a great starting choice (I LOVE "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," and I'm an adult!). I also recommend Lemony Snicket's "Series of Unfortunate Events;" its plots are easy to follow, there's lots of action, and kids learn vocabulary in a fun way. (It might be more for 8 to 10 year olds.)

while i substitute into approximately that age, I enjoyed each and all the Mildred D. Taylor books, and quite enjoyed Roll of Thunder, pay attention Me Cry. Her books are generally approximately interracial stress interior the south formerly the Civil Rights stream. i think of they are quite age perfect, on the grounds that it somewhat is as quickly as I study them, and that they are additionally very severe and outstanding books. Lord of the Flies is a brilliant e book, and is in all probability age perfect, yet somebody that age could probably have problems understanding each and all the symbolism and the actual meaning in the back of the story. Anthem with the aid of Ayn Rand is a competent study and focuses on individualism in society. Pay It forward with the aid of Catharine Ryan Hyde is likewise very inspiring, even nonetheless it somewhat is rather unhappy besides. the two a style of incorporate on the examining point of a nicely knowledgeable 5th or 6th grader, and that i think of a youthful boy who enjoys examining could like those books. Troy with the aid of Adele Geras is likewise a competent e book, in case you like discovering approximately mythology. It has the parable component, whether it continues to be academic and has a competent lesson in the back of it. Plus, in some unspecified time interior the destiny wisdom of mythology is solid to have, usually for some classification in severe college or college, and that i got here across it lots much less complicated to bear in ideas after examining this e book. solid success looking books!
