If she pees outside the box, wipe it up with a paper towel or something and put it in the box, then clean the area outside the box with a half water, half vinegar solution which is a great rabbit safe cleaner. Poos outside the box will happen as that's how they mark their territory.
Rabbits are certainly smart enough to be litter trained, both of mine are.

Start with your rabbit in a cage inside the house, put a small piece of wood in the corner were the rabbit can pee on it. Then use the wood in the litter box, the rabbits sent will be on it to make the rabbit use the litter box. Good Luck.

Start her off in a small area with the litter tray. Make sure some of her poops are in there and the tray is large enough for her to be comfortable, preferrably one with a high sides as she'll back into a corner. Use a paper based litter and cover with hay.
Some poops laying around are normal, it's how rabbits mark our their space.
