There are so many great schools with outstanding Departments of Classics - it's impossible to list them all. Here are the top 15, in my opinion.
And a personal note -- if I were a young woman desiring to major in classics, I'd pick Bryn Mawr. No contest. Why? Opportunities to go on archaeological digs, opportunities to publish in and/or work on Bryn Mawr's classical studies journal, the amazingly dedicated faculty, the absolutely gorgeous campus and dorm rooms, the huge college endowment which allows for superb student financial aid packages, the stimulating academic climate, the proximity to Philadelphia and New York without being in the middle of an urban center, the student diversity..... need I go on?

Wesleyan University in Connecticut...I have a friend studying the classics there now...she loves it! It is also one of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation and is considered a "Little Ivy."

-There's a website I used my senior year of High School during the big college search. Not only did it help me search through specific school information (such as the best school for specific degrees, costs, locations, etc...), helping me find which one was right for me, but in the meantime it lets you apply for numerous student loans, scholarships, and aid funds. I highly recomment it to anyone in the college decision process.
