I am going to langkawi with another friend of mine just for a short getaway (3D2N). What are the places that you would recommend me to go? (we wanna sun tan and chill) Also, are there any ATMs in langkawi??? =D thanks

the 'one' that you should not miss are definitely the cable car ride, Pulau Payar marine park, Telaga Tujuh[waterfall], Underwater World n rent a car then drive around the island, sample the food wherever you go/stop.
Since its one of the shopping heaven n duty-free, ATM is never a problem, one of it is the popular Maybank kawanku !
Sun tan? almost all the beaches there are great[of course further away from Kuah town are the better one !
You may wanted to try going there by train, its a wonderful experience that car driven journey can never offered ! n some beautiful scenery that you sure miss on the tar road !
Been there 1985, 1993,1999 n 2002.

Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea. It is also known for its rich culture and some of the best food on the planet. Here lies the largest aquarium of Asia having more than 5,000 species. So you should go there.

Just stay at the Reddisson Resort Tanjung Rhu. They will let you know about the must-see places in Langkawi.

If you love history, you would like to visit Mahsuri's grave, Field of Mat Sirat, the plaza of Eagle, if you like beach, Cenang Beach. If you want ATM, in Kuah town you can find, it's the largest town in Langkawi, do you think there will be no ATM?

Why Langkawi? For a beach-y breakaway? I recommend Burau Bay, Porto Malai and Tanjung Rhu. There are still ATMs in Langkawi. The main concern is more on food - they'll be more expensive compared to any other parts of Malaysia (except Genting Highlands).
