Slow development, like all true rookies.

They are going to have a tough road to get a wildcard, with Seattle, Cincy and San Diego on the schedule.

Cutler is smart enough not to make some of the bonehead mistakes Plummer makes. He's got a better arm, and he was used to making due with less talent at Vandy.

There's more wrong in Denver than just Plummer. The O-line is dinged, and the Bell's are not the answer at RB. The once vaunted defensive has lost Ferguson and Brandon.

Still, why not start the future now. Cutler can use the work, and hopefull hit the ground running next season, win or lose.

Well, I've more faith in Shanahan than I do Plummer. Shanahan has always been a genius in my book (his only mistake being that JOKE Brian Griese). This is a game and if you can't get your team to where they need to be, you will be dealt with. I look for an immediate impact, most likely mentally. The entire team has been demoralized on some level and I look for Cutler to breathe new life into them. And I think now was the best time to have done it. Having 10 days between games is almost like having a bye week. Plenty of time for Cutler to start getting acclimated.

This will help them, because Cutler can make passes that Plummer can't. He has a better arm and can stretch a defense down the field. That is why the Broncos haven't been able to run efficiently this year is because there is no immediate long ball threat with Plummer. They will be able to take advantage of one-on-one coverage and beat DB's down the field with Walker. I think it will amke a huge difference, I could vary well be dead wrong, but this football sesaon is whacky any way.

One game's impact, in all likelihood. Cutler will be hailed as a savior....and then reality will set in once DCs review the tape and pick out the weaknesses that so often riddle young quarterbacks and rookie quarterbacks especially. This will be amplified by the fact he went to a small school and thus didn't play much top competition, unlike his fellow 1st-rounders, Young and Leinart.

In any case, if the Broncos can run as of old and their defense keeps playing like it has been, you might see a Big Ben effect....

I feel he couldnt do any worse. There is no way they will win with Plummer. He just doesnt come through in a pinch, and he is interception crazy. I am hoping for an immediate impact. Something like Dallas, that would work.

Imediate impact. Think about it, Shanahan isn't new to this. If he thinks its a good move I believe him. Everytime you think , "Did you see what Shanahan did", he surprises you and pulls a trick out of his sleeve. Also teams don't know how to gameplan for Cutler which could cause some problems for defenses.

after all of his years in the NFL, Jake Plummer replaced into nonetheless making an analogous style of undesirable judgements that a youthful QB could be predicted to make. in case you will go through by way of rookie type blunders, you may besides be coming up a rookie. i for my section did no longer like the signing of Jake for the Broncos as much as a pair human beings on the time. i did no longer see him because of the fact the long term answer at QB because of the fact of his history of undesirable judgements and interceptions together with his in basic terms different NFL group, the Arizona Cardinals (observe Landon E). In Arizona Jake have been given into too many undesirable conduct because of the fact he replaced into compelled to make issues take place and carry the group on his returned. I enjoyed Jake as an interrum QB, yet Jay Cutler is the destiny and it replaced into time to pass on.

Slow development if they don't get the running game back on track. If they do then they will make the playoffs if not Cutler will not be able to get them there himself.
