better to buy a rebuilt one at your local auto parts store than to refurbish one yourself.

You don't need to refurbish these yourself as when you go into a motor factors or car spares place the one's that you puchase will most likely be remanufactured units. You are likely to be charged a "old unit surcharge" when you buy the replacement(s) this is usually around £10+vat and is refunded when you take the old calipers back to the shop - be sure to keep your receipt as they will ask to see it!

Better off getting rebuilt calipers.

Most motor factors can get hold of caliper service kits. They consist of seals, piston rings and clips. They aren't too expensive.
