Lets wait til the Brits get around to answering. The public makes the Government responsible for every health decision. The unions fight every private sector involvement even when they can do it faster cheaper better.

Private sector definitely. It is always impossible to deal with any government run facility. I really do not want health care to be operated in the same way.

Private - though this doesn't mean there shouldn't be a national health system that covers all citizens. It's also not a license to put administrators in positions to make medical decisions instead of doctors, nor is it a license to optimize profit over care.

Private. Governments should get out of the healthcare business entirely, except to provide aid to those in desperate need.

But most hospitals are governed by federal law (that is, if they want to keep getting medicare payments)
