Starter/solenoid went out. Or else a short in a wire. Most automotive part suppliers will test starters. Like Checker, Autozone, etc.... Well good luck getting it fixed. Oh and check your fuses to. I had a friends Dodge pickup do the same exact thing. Except only the radio worked. No lights and no motor. It turned out to be just a fuse. And if it was the battery was just low, you should here the starter at least engage, but not turn. If you turn your key and it clicks it's possible it's a battery.

Could be a # of things. A weak battery, Bad starter, Seized motor, bad ignition switch. a little more information would be helpful. Information like when the car last ran, do other things work light dome light head lights. How bright are the other lights. Do any lights come on on the dash (the seat belt indicator, and stuff like that)

What model and year of car? What kind of transmission do you have? If auto make sure it is n park or neutral. If manual make sur you are in neutral and press the clutch all the way down. If there is a clicking noise when turning the key it is probably your starter. Check your battery as well.

Have you tried using your headlights. It is possibly either your starter motor is jammed. In which case you will need to put the car in gear and rock it until it clicks into action.Or your battery is in need of changing. Before you try either of these, get someone to come over to you with a pair of jump leads.

It means you have an electrical problem. Since it won't start and run, you call your favorite mechanic on the phone and ask him who he uses for his tows. Call the tow truck and have them take the car in to be fixed. Eventually the shop will call and say "Hey, your car's fixed. Come get it." Call your buddy for a ride over, pay the bill. Drive your now operating vehicle home.
