You are right. Coca-cola started to advertise their product with Santa and they are the ones to first put him in all red. This started back around the early 1900's when they were doing a lot of billboards and magazine ads as TV did not exist back then. The advertisers at Coke thought it would be good for Santa to be wearing the same colors as Coke. Santa used to not always be red, sometimes green and sometimes he would wear white. Yes. Santa as he now apears on christmas cards, tv etc. was fisrt seen on a coca cola advert (with the red suit, white beard and so on) im not sure when exactly this was. though santa has been around way before the ads. just not as he is seen today!
