Yeah I know the law changed recently but if you have a disability or have really low income to begin with, is there a way to have it included in the bankruptcy judgment?

I am sorry but student loans that are underwritten (or subsidized or guaranteed) by the federal government can not be included in bankruptcy proceedings.

If you have a bona fide disability, I would suggest that you apply for Social Security Disability Income through the Social Security Administration.

The federal government is open to possible deferment of student loans in times of disability and low-income, but you can pretty much forget "forgiveness" of loans unless you are performing some kind of Peace Corps service or entering a field where there is a high need for human resources.

If in doubt, call the Department of Education and they have government assistants who can answer all of your questions about student loans.

student very own loan peeps will push aside your very own loan in the adventure that your are declared completely disabled by a checklist. you may call your very own loan peeps and ask for the documents which you seek for. they at the instant are not going to lie!!!they are able to looking you everywhere you circulate!!! the telephone peeps do no longer care in case you pay your very own loan returned, they' re basically worken, so in case you qualify as disabled, your only one much less individual they call or deliver expenditures to asking to gets a commission.

Check with your lender. There are ways that college loans can be forgiven. Also, check with your lawyer.

No you have to pay all government loans, but with nothing else to pay, it should be easier!
