Unfortunately Britain is not a great country anymore. Having indulged in the expense of the First world War and Then the Second World War the economy was crippled by war loans which Britain could not repay. The taxes went sky high to try and establish some sort of decent economy but the subjects were doomed to a life of taxes and high prices. Successive governments have not learnt the lessons about warfare and today we find ourselves in conflicts around the globe supporting American foreign policy instead of allowing the UN to carry out the work it was intended for. The pensioners live a squalid end to their days while the government pours money into warfare and supporting immigration - Great Britain ? don't make me cry !!

Because the nationalization of Britain's labor forces and industry have crippled the country's economic infrastructure.
No Socialist-leaning economy can compete in a global marketplace. This is exactly why groups like the World Bank, World Trade Organization, and G20 get protested (by socialists) all the time, but the fact of the matter is that Free Trade in an Free Market is the only way to give everyone a chance to succeed.
If Britain doesn't want to buy stuff from the US, then it should buy stuff elsewhere or make it itself. If it can't do either, then it should make do with what it can get, and strive to improve its economy... by Free Trade.
Socialism will always break even, at best. It can never get ahead in a Free Market.

Wow I under no circumstances knew that the Spanish were British, Africans were British, Irish were British. My goodness hunny we had a colony over there once in spite of the indisputable fact that the total continent became under no circumstances British. i comprehend we massive ourselves up in certain situations yet isn't that a touch previous the light? also we used to rule the waves because we are an island that were given bloody peeded off about being invaded each and every of the time. when you're basing our greatness on the coal and iron what are we going to do now that both industries are almost extinct? u . s . is (arguably) contained in the technique of starting up its own imperialist section. they have vast oil reserves and organic aspects to exploit (over a more advantageous section than we ever had). They administration an undesirable lot and are rather the absolutely large skill awesome (even although that i have self belief China is catching up). Britain in 'lower than' them because our flesh pressers pick to best pal our a lot smaller us of a with their a lot more advantageous one. If we want Independence from them (as they have had from us for a lengthy time period) lets ought to paintings a lot extra heavily with Europe if we can pull our heads out of our...... earlier its too previous due and we are the utmost recent American state.

Sorry dude but where do you get this stuff from? This time do a little research into the General Import trade of this country. Have you not been told about China for example, or the many other cheap imports we buy on a day to day basis from all over the world.

I have to take exception to the great country reference. Much of the world's ills can be traced back to the British Empire and the only export that England should be applauded for is the Beatles. And another thing. They were ruining Iraq long before we did.

Huh, buddy britain isn't very independent for anything these days. This labour governemnet doesn't even care if we are not self sufficient in food supply/production. Sometimes I wonder how we are the fifth or sixth (whatever we are) biggest economy in the world.
By the way what are u refering to?
