It depends on the rest of your coloring too, hair, skin tone. Also, whether you are looking to be dramatic, or are more subdued. Get dressed up, go to the cosmetic department at a nice store like Bloomies or Macys and start playing around.
Also you can get cheap stuff (wet and wild comes to mind) at the drug store in colors you find interesting, take it home and experiment and when you find the shade you like, go get it in a better brand that you would actually use.
When I started with makeup aeons ago, I used those big kits with the full range of colors - I had alot of colors I never used, but I also had alot of choices for experimenting. Makeup should be fun and make you feel spectacular. Go for it.

I think you can get away with almost any color, a lot depends on your skin tone too. I used to always stick to the same colors but then my mom became a Mary Kay consultant and I learned that I can wear colors I never dreamed of. I never really believed I could have brown/ hazel eyes and wear turquise eyeshadow, even when others told me it looked great. Not until I saw pictures of myself, I was shocked. Try taking pictures of yourself and don't be afraid to try something new, I'm so glad I did!

I use a real light purple under a real light pink. I also use a light brown, blue, light green. I have hazel eyes like that too, and just tryed different colors until I liked one. The colors that I listed are what worked for me, but it may be a different color for you especially since everyone's eyes are shaped differently.

Brown works with blue eyes and amber. Use blue or black eye liner. Maybe use a light blue for the upper lid. Almay has color packs to accentuate eye colors.

you should use colors that are the contrasting color of your eye - green is contrasting with red. Try maroons, burgandys, pinks. If those seem too harsh try something with more of a purplish tint to it.
