If you look at a height and weight chart you are in the average weight zone. You are 13 years old and still young carrying your weight differently. You are not overweight. If you'd like to tone yourself try just jogging. That creates leaner muscle tone as well as swimming. Cardio workouts with light weights help burn more fat. This is not so you can loose weight but just create a healthy habit.
What others tell you in school is hard to swallow because kids are cruel. Kids don't think about how one feels when they are on the other side. You are tall for being 13 and I think they mistake that with being fat. It is actually them who are silly and quite naieve for not knowing the difference. Embrace the fact you are tall, have strong legs, and still have lots of years to grow!
Your style is your own. Whatever you feel comfortable in is what is in. Not what is in all the magazines!! How do you think styles come in, by others dressing in something they feel good in and it slowly catches on.
Embrace yourself, don't worry about what others think.
Being healthy does matter but you are 13 years old. I'm sure you are active so just keep that up and things will work out as long as you dont let them get to you. Always tell yourself you are beautiful and don't need to be like everyone else. How boring would that be if we were all the same?
Keep your chin up... school kids are cruel but the best reward is coming out strong!!!!!

ok hun acording to the bmi (body mass index) you are over weight. Now here's where it gets tricky. It sounds like you are very muscular which is going to make you weight more, and add a little bulk to those parts of your body that have the most muscle. If you truly want to know if you need to lose weight discuss it with your doctor. As for the teasing please be aware that I am fat and i know it. I was one of those kids who got picked on mercilessly for being fat. Even if you become very thin it will not chnge their behaviour. Rmember you can't control others behaviours youhave to change how you think feel and act. Ignore those who tease you as immature jerks. Instead do the best that you can in your schoolwork and those extra curriculars that you desire to do. When the jerks tease you remember what they are saying is either a truth or a lie. If it's a lie know it and let it roll off your back, because if you don't it gives the impression that there is some truth to it. If it is a truth decide if it's a truth you can live with. If you can't live woth the truth then work towards changing it. Don't change simply to please others, when you do that you lose yourself. If you lose yourself then you lose everything.

Im 17 and I wiegh the same as you and am as tall as you. Dont believe those people, i gaurantee when you get older guys will like you and girls will respect you because of your womanly shape. Dont try tofit in to kids clothes, they probably don't fit you right, ask your mom to take you to the juniors department for clothes and try a size 11 or 13 pants. You just need to wear clothes that flatter your figure and not that are too tight or too baggy. Seriously dont take those comments to heart, wait till you get older and people will not treat you that way.

Ask your mom to take you to your doctor or a nutritionist. The most important thing is that you are healthy; you shouldn't go on a fad diet when you are still developing. You're young and still growing so you should get help from someone who understands what your body needs to develop properly while also helping with your weight issues. And maybe if you do it the right way now, you won't have to fight the battle of the bulge when you are an adult.

When I was about your age, I thought I was so fat. Now don't I wish I weighed that little. Some people come into their adult bodies earlier. Give your classmates 2 years and they'll catch up. Don't get into the diet or low self-esteem cycle, you'll just wind up fatter in the long run.

First of all don't ask for diet tips, because you do'nt need to lose weight!
I'm a bit older and taller than you, but I had a similar problem getting teased because of my weight.
That was about a year ago and trust me they will soon find a new victim to tease.
Plus if it's girls that are teasing you, it's probably because thier jealous.
I know it sounds a bit wierd, but trust me all of my girlfriends always tell me how they wish they were curvy like me (and I've had more boyfriends than any of them!)
So don't worry about it, they will stop it, but till then keep your chin up and be proud to be curvy !!!

I know it is so cliche, but the people who are bothering you have either one or both of two problems. They are insecure about themselves and have to dig to find something to bug someone else about to make themselves feel better, and/or they have no thought process of their own and are going along with what others are doing. If you feel comfortable in your clothes (and you obviously are physically active with your horseback riding), then no, you are probably not overweight. I try not to let others opinions bother (doesn't always work), but YOU have to be happy with you. Like I said if you feel comfortable in your clothes, don't let other people or even numbers like clothes sizes or a scale tell you how to feel!

Why do you care what other people think about you? As long as you're healthy and doing what you enjoy, tell those other people to screw off. If you want to lose weight, lose weight because you want to, not because you think other people will like you more. There's no magic way to lose weight. You just need to eat right and exercise. Simple math. Burn more calories than you consume.
