I was very lucky, I had no ill effects after.....;
The link below will take you to a site which talks about after effects but to sum it up it says...
Q. Is it possible to still have the intermittent itching sensation, especially over my back area, after that amount of time from affected nerve endings?
A.Yes, it is possible but more likely to be from recurrent zoster virus in the nerve ganglia of the spine that supplies the nerves to that area. OK?
Ask your doctor to put you on chronic acyclovir or Valtrex at the twice a day dose for 3 months and get on a nutritional deficiency replacement program of the following if OK with your doctor. Generally, the best is to replace your deficiencies in the modern agriculturally grown diets as follows:
1) 2000 mg omega-3 twice a day
2) high potency B complex twice a day
3) senior multivitamin daily
4) Caltrate with vitamin D twice a day
5) magnesium 500mg twice a day

Herpes varicella zoster neuritis (shingles) is a serious affliction but other than post herpetic neuralgia (damage to a nerve resulting in chronic pain) I am not aware of any sequelae specifically it is not possible for a resolved case of HVZN to cause fatigue or tiredness. It is a good question whether a present case of HVZN leads to symptoms of being tired but it does not - unless the person has a defective immune system - there are subsequent infections - or if pain prevents adequate rest.

I had shingles for about a month. For a while I did have sharp pains every once in a while in the area effected by the shingles after they were gone. The doctor said that was normal - and could last up to a year. Luckily, it didn't last that long

I only suffered from a lack of sleep during my illness and didn't actually have any after effects so if you have some more problems, I would recommend that you go to see your doctor.

I HAVE A LITTLE "TWINGE" I'LL CALL IT....IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT THAT THEY STARTED. IT'S ON MY BACK, UNDER MY BRA STRAP. I DON'T FEEL IT EVERY DAY, BUT I DO FEEL IT SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. IT DOESN'T HURT OR ITCH, LIKE THE SHINGLES DID, BUT IT'S JUST THERE.
I HAD THE SHINGLES FOUR YEARS AGO, ON MY HONEYMOON -- IF YOU CAN IMAGINE!!!
