Keep the lines of communication open. If you treat him like your his best friend , he most like will recipricate. Be goofy, spontaneous and fun. Be intellegent and a good listener. Read between the lines. It's likely that he is becoming bored with you and it comes across as taking you for granted. If he loves to be with you and he respects your honesty, his outlook will change for the better. So will yours. Hang in there though, because making things click can be as tricky as the combination on a lock. Keep experimenting, and above all keep smiling. That's bound to make him sit up and take notice! You sound like an honest, sincere person...suggest something unexpected that he'll really appreciate. Life is like a mirror. He'll reflect it back.

I agree with "twodaughters". Turn the roles on him. When you get married, things don't change that much from dating, except now you are living with someone. You still unfortunately have to play games sometimes. Not all the time, but sometimes. I tell my husband when he makes me mad, and he will say he is 'sorry' but then just do the same thing over again. Then I go and do the same thing that he has done to me, and he doesn't like that. It is ridiculous.

Keep him on his toes dear. Don't be predictable. If he shows signs of "this dinner isn't as good as last night" put chili in it, or make him a special pie (containing dog food.)
If he won't put his underpants in the basket, give him a demonstration, "see this is a lid and if you pick it up by the handle, VOILA!, a big opening appears and you can put your pants in there and put the lid back on"
Or, stand near to the linen basket and shout at the dirty laundry on the floor "up, UP I say and JUMP!" eventually when he comes into the room curious and remarks how the washing won't jump in on it's own, exclaim "THAT'S RIGHT YOU IDIOT!"

The best thing for you to do, and trust me it works, ACT LIKE HIM. My husband is inconsiderate and unthankful too. So I reversed the role and he didn't like it at all. All of a sudden he b/m super nice and appreciative. Don't let him know what your doing just do it you'll see the role reversal instantly. P.s nagging doesnt work..
