You need to take the Liberal Studies major. Its basically a little bit of everything. Its a lot of general education classes tailored to teachers. Then once you finish the 4 year major to get your bachelors. You need to take the CBEST and the Multiple Subject Test. Then you need to get your teaching credential (about another 2 years). Once you get your bachelors and CBEST taken, you can start as a substitute teacher until you get your credential.

I'm surprised that you are allowed to be a substitute without a bachelor's in education and certification? You need to check with your state board to see what certifications are needed. Usually the same certifications are needed for substituting or full time teaching.

Thanks for coming to my question & insulting me. Kind of ironic, don't you think? After telling me being rude is just a cover for having no personality. If you don't have a sense of humor, you should have checked out the sarcasm definition before being rude.

a four year degree in elementary education, obtain a state teaching lisence after you complete student teaching. Some private schools do not require this, but all public schools will.

4 years and a Bachelors Degree (science or arts) then some states still require further expensive testing for your "certification"

different districts have different requirements i'm sure, but usually a 4-year college is preferred.

right now it is probably a little bit easier in Las Vegas as we are having a major teacher shortage here.

Good luck!
