36 months is 3 years...all you need to do is count like so:
Born August 24th, turns one month on Sept. 24th, two months on October 24th...so on. This is how your pediatrician calculates.

omg ...are you serious? How do you not know the age of your child? You calculate it from the day the baby is born...so, if "someone" says your baby is 36 months they must be going by its BIRTHDATE!!!! What do you mean"how old is the child?" If the child was indeed born 36 months ago then its 36 months old, which is the same as 3 years old....How old are you? I cant even begin to understand why this question even has to be asked....it's scary that you are a parent

Well, there are 12 months in a year so 36 months would be 3 yrs.

36 months (or however many months they say) divided by 12 months in a year = 3 years old. It's simple math, as long as you know the calendar.
12 months OR 52 weeks OR 364 1/4 days in a year
4 weeks OR 29/30/31 days in a month (depending on the month of course)
7 days in a week and so on

Example of how to calculate the child's age: To calculate the child's age, subtract the birth date from the date of the visit or measurement. To subtract, it will be necessary to convert months to days and years to months if either the month or day in the birth data is larger than in the date of measurements. When converting one month to days, subtract 1 from the number of months in the date of measurement, then add 28, 30, or 31, as appropriate, to the number of days. When converting one year to months, subtract 1 from the number of years in the date of measurement, then add 12 to the number of months.
