There is no one best food. You want to start with a good basic food, two the best are Sanyu bettta gold and Hikari betta gold (they are one in the same, the sanyu is a much better buy).
Supplement with bloodworms and Brine shrimp (Brine shrimp have natural laxative abilities)
Be very carefull of foods such as many Tetra products and some Wardley products that use animal based proteins that are made up of amino acids that are impossible for most fish to digest. You want a fish food that has Whole or white fish meal as its primary ingredient.
Here is a very good article about proper fish foods:

I have had my betta for 1.5 yrs now and i think teh best food is "Wardley BETTA premium food" they are floating mini pellets and I got them from Petsmart. In the begining i only fed him freeze dried blood worms (which he also really likes ) but those should be treated more like treats..at first he didnt like teh pellets as they seemed too large for his mouth but once he swallowed a couple he grew to lovethem...I feed him 4-5 pellets a day and sometimes i will skip a day and not feed him at all...this helps clear out te system (almost like a detox period)...if you are going away for a week or less and you dont have anyone to look after your fish you can feed it "Pro-Balance 7 day betta block" they will dissolve in teh water over 7-10 days and relase freeze dried food as well as neautralize the aquarium water.

Ideally you want to alternate between freeze dried blood worms, and freeze dried brine shrimp. I'd avoid live, or frozen worms as they don't keep well, and can carry disease. What ever you feed him make sure it is meaty as betta are carnivores.
Also remember that all betta are pigs, and have been known to eat themselves to death. He only needs about s much food as his eye ball once a day, 5-6 days a week. A pot bellied betta is an over fed betta.

There is NO one food that is best. Bettas NEED a varied diet consisting of frozen brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms, a good pellet, i like Omega one because its made with real seafood, and i feed hikari pellets too. I also gave my bettas live food. I hatched and raised my own brine shrimp for them and i also cultured live misquito larvae with a bucket sittin on my porch in the summer time. I also gave them newborn baby guppies and mollies too. Freeze dried foods are ok as a treat only, on a diet of just freeze dried bloodworms bettas will get bloated and constipated.

I feed my Betta's dried and frozen Blood Worms, Live Brine Shrimp, Betta Bio-Gold, Wingless Fruit Flies, live Daphnia, White Worms, Guppy fry, and they even like it when I brake them open a live Freshwater Clam Once in a While. Every one has their own opinion on this but I think live food is the best! I raise all of my own live food!

Floating betta pellets are the easiest thing to feed (Hikari brand is great). They make colour-enhancing betta foods, too, which will make your betta look more colourful.
Almost all bettas will refuse flake food.
As a treat, try freeze-dried or frozen bloodworms (2-3 per day).

I assume you mean betta. if that is the case betta food from stores, the pellets that float. you could also try freeze dried blood worms and such, they should have a good sized selection at your pet store.
try bettatalk.com because I assume you know nothing about them considering you didn't even know how to spell it. they have tons of good info on how to care for bettas
