Javy...I just cut my basketball open so I could answer your question...I found a complex hydraulic system with one main spring connected to 360 smaller springs...There is also an elf in there operating everything...I could not understand his language, but I could tell he was really pissed at me for cutting the ball open...Hope that helps

Yeah, no springs. Inside the tough leather or synthetic outside is a rubber bladder filled with air under pressure. The pressure is really high and pushes the outside layer taut, making it really solid and super bouncy. For some science stuff, check out the wiki articles cited.
