Is it correct to say "They are cookies"?? It just doesn't sound right to me.

I think it is correct to say "they are cookies" But you could say "these are cookies" if you don't like the way "they" sounds.

Yes, it's correct. But if you don't like the way it sounds, you could also say...Those are cookies.

That is a correct way to say it. But, if you live in Michigan feel free to say "Them are cookies"... and no one will ever question you on that !

Yes its correct to say. They are cookies. There are more fluid ways to say it, but that way is correct as well.

Sure... although it might sound better to say "those are cookies," but either one is correct.

Possibly slightly better to say "those are cookies" as "they" tends to be used for people I think

It would be correct to say: "They are cookies."

Yes. Subject-verb agreement is in place. Turn the sentence around - "Cookies are they." Entirely consistent in number between subject, verb, and object.
