have an old frame house i want to ghange the siding but don't want these ugly colors of the siding i've been shown. don't want the house to look newly resided, want to keep it looking old. is that possible, and if so, where do i look for used siding.

you can proabably get just about any color or type of siding if you look hard enough. It may cost, thats why people usually keep some of the extra pieces around in case they need repairs. I dont think that the people taking it off are usually too careful, but you could ask a contractor or maybe try some siding stores and see what they have buried in the back of the storeroom or in the long grass behind the shop.

I don't think anyone has used siding for resale. Removing it is such a job that they will tear it off causing kinks and tears that make it unusable again. There are so many choices of siding types and colors, I can't believe you can't find something you like new.
