Saprolite ? -- a soft, earthy, clay-rich thoroughly decomposed rock formed in place by chemical weathering of igneous or metamorphic rocks

C-horizon (soils) ? -- partially disintegrated parent material and mineral particles are in this horizon. C horizons may also be called "parent material".

Overburden ? - engineering term for anything not bedrock

Oh, yeah, generally decomposed rocks are called soils. Maybe I'm being too specific.

I always just called it weathered bedrock knowing that at some depth bedrock would be relatively unweathered

Decomposed rock, although it usually contains other substances, is commonly referred to as soil. so the answer to your question is "farmland"
