Nothing wrong with it but I dated a guy who was my cousin's husband's son (no blood relation) and it didn't go over well with the family. We ended it very quickly.

It's not wrong. Just remember if you decide to date and later break up you'll have to see him forever. Also your relatives are going to be even more interested in your relationship (and break up) because they will view you both as family.

No, you aren't real family, so actually there's nothing wrong with it.
It only seems a bit weird because he is your cousin, by marriage of course, but when you know why he's your cousin it's normal : )
