The question is what kind of paintball do you play? I would not use an a-5 for speedball becuase it is heavy. But for woodsball the a-5 is a beast. Tippman makes a fine marker. The a-5 will withstand tons of abuse and keep on firing. There are tons of modifications and its easy to obtain parts. Tippman customer service is outstanding. This is no disrespect to the Autococker, which is a fine marker. I use a Smart Parts Ion for woodsball and scenario play, although this makes a decent speedball marker too. The price is right and it has been a great gun. I like it becuase it is relatively quieter than many other markers. It is lightwieght and easy to clean. My son has an Ion and an A-5. His style of play is different than mine as he tends to like making noise and laying down paint as a heavy gunner. He added a rotary crank to the trigger on his A-5 that pumps 7 rounds per turn. The loud pop that this gun makes is impressive in iteself. When opposing forces hear this thing spraying they move. Those who dont get plastered. There is also a custom marker called, "The Hammer". It is 2 A-5's connected togther. A crank pulls both triggers at the same time for an effective rate of fire of ~ 30 rounds a second. It puts down a 6 foot wide spray of paintballs ;o) Its a bunker busting nightmare.

If you want a durable marker that is fun to use and has endless customizations get the A-5. The price is reasonable and with regular cleaning it will last you a long long time. If you want a marker that has teh best capabilities of both speedball and woodsball for $200 get an SP Ion.

If your ever in Illinois and want to play a great paintball field try Fox Paintball. But keep your head low or Ill find ya ;o)

What are you playing? Speedball? Woodsball? Recball?
Autocockers are good for speedball and A-5's are good for woodsball. But it's better to just get an Ion or a Spyder to start with.

A-5 = Woodsball
Cocker = Speedball

I wouldn't reccomend getting a WGP because they are so complicated to put back together. I know because i used to have one myself. And why not get a Smart Parts Ion for that type of money? Its a much better and reliable gun than the Cocker. I would save up more and get the Ion.
