I just got my first speeding ticket on I-605 in long beach going to work at 6am. I was crusing along when a motorcycle highway patrol pulled me over for making an unsafe lane change. He let me off on the lane change but wrote me up for going 90mph! The posted speed limit is 65mph, but I wanted to know roughly how much it is going to be and if I still have the option of taking driving school. I work at a car dealership and I cannot have any points on my driving record. If anyone could help, that would be awesome!

The cost will be based on your record. If it is fairly clean, it should be < $300.00 plus costs. If you have other convictions, it could be higher.
If you haven't used the school option in the last 18 months, you can go.

Good Luck, And Merry Christmas

Most states will allow for a forgiveness or a defferment for your driving violation. Check your local laws, you may be able to get off with just going to a driving school and paying for the ticket instead of having points against your license. It'll be like it never happened. It will cost a bit at first but it'll save you a lot in the long run. My friend in Wichita, KS had the same issue; paid the fees and got off scott free! Goodluck!
