Start listening to the LA-based "Morning Becomes Eclectic" streaming radio show at KCRW.com (89.9 FM).

Nic Harcourt spins the best and newest uncorrupted indie, jazz, pop, eclectic and world music. Some of the music is played prior to official album/single release.

listen to Triple J: www.abc.net.au/tripleJ

this is an Australian radio with high emphasis on independent bands, alternative music (or just about anything with substance and good quality), and live performances (including exclusive secret concerts and their famous Live At The Wireless). btw Australia is home to some of the finest musicians in the world; many whom unfortunately aren't that well marketed outside the country. i personally think Triple J's one of the best out there.

Just thought this is worth mentioning: this band is an alumnus of Triple J Unearthed, check out http://www.myspace.com/sickpuppies and their "free hugs" video (All The Same).

Other great bands:
-george (www.george.net.au. www.myspace.com/georgetheband)
-elixir
-something for kate
-big heavy stuff
-regurgitator
-killing heidi
-cog
-sunk loto
-the butterfly effect
