So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

People are a little bit skeptical when we mentioned aliens because some people are actually very narrow minded, I prefer to call it other intelligent beings. In this infinite universe of course there is more than we can ever imagine, if other being did not exist I would find all this infinite space to be useless. We have not explore space totally, so of course it is probable. Stepping away from the conception of little green people in flying saucers, there are other beings out there that our technology will never allow us to find, not because we are not smart enough but it is due to the fact that we are trying to locate people in a universe that is infinite. Some are probably more advanced or some are just not. I try to keep an open mind for any eventual possibilities. The world have 6.5 billion people compare to the billions of galaxies out there this is a relatively small number of intelligent beings for such a huge universe. They might have even a different time zone which might make time travelling easier for them, they might be built physically different then us which might make their body able to sustain travelling conditions that our humanly bodies can not withhold, maybe one day they will find us who knows I'm just hoping to see the face of our skeptical fellow humans.

Considering the vastness of the cosmos, I'd say yes...I mean, I read it in books, see it on the telly, they always make advancements in seeing further- and can accurately assess types of planets and determine if any are of a habitable kind. Thats pretty cool...I hope within my lifetime, I can see more splendors from space...dont we all?
But...
The possibility of "others" un-nerves me. Not because of "they" being different altogether, but a real fear- like most I think that if the odds were in their favor to be able to travel here presents a chain of other more profound possibilities...like beings capable of god-like wizardry, or some kind of malevolent purpose. Or it may be that a "visit" on any level could be peaceful...WE DONT KNOW! If we can sit here and entertain the question, lets be real eh?
As for way out there alien lifeforms and beings, I think George Lucus may have had some kind of premonition because it very well could be that out there...far, far away- there are places were cultures and diversity come together...why not? We ended up here talking about it.....
I'll keep an open mind and not rule out anything rational. And I feel its rational to believe there may not be just some, but many "out there".

We exist and are already here. Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species. Your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you and neither does your penchant to breed beyond your planet's ability to sustain you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

There are approximately 100 billion stars in our galaxy, and a whole sky full of galaxies. It would be a real shame if all that space was occupied by only planet with intelligent life on it... although that doesn't mean there is another planet like ours in the same corner of the universe. And it definitely doesn't prove that all those people who got anal probed are anything more than hoaxes and mental patients. Still, are ALL the claims false? I don't know.

You will certainly not find credible information regarding alien life within your astronomy textbook. There is an organization headed by Dr. Steven Greer, which has an aim in de-classifying information regarding extra-terrestrial life. This organization has some very credible former United States government officials that are willing to testify before congress in an attempt to make all of the REAL information regarding U.F.O.s completely public. The organization, called "Disclosure Project", also demands that congress have an open, honest meeting regarding this information.

Suppossedly the United States has known about extra terrestrial life for over 50 years, and they have had access to these beings technology as well. Some of the technology has to do with 0-gravity type stuff, anti-gravity, and some other great universal law type tricks which would enable a civilization to send people to Earth. One of these tricks has to do with electricity, and suppossedly the circular type UFO's that we all know of, use massive amounts of electricity in a small package which will provide these air-crafts with UNLIMITED FUEL! The crafts dont burn fossil fuel, and not only do they have an unlimited fuel supply, but they travel at incredible speeds.

It is said that these life forms ARE NOT HOSTILE, however they ARE concerned with OUR hostility, and have demonstrated their concern, and dissaproval of weaponizing space, on different occasions. Suppossedly there were instances where the US launched missles into space, and these missles were intercepted and neutralized by extra-terrestrial space-crafts.

Suppossedly the Bush administration is pretty aggressively pushing for the weaponization of space, which should not surprise anyone, considering he authorized that 4-billion dollars be spent on the development of the military. 4-billion dollars on the military is a MASSIVE amount in comparison to other countries spendings, and IF this whole wacked out scenario involving extra-terrestrial beings dissaproving of our weaponization of space is REAL, then we might have a problem when we weaponize space. If these life-forms are able to fly from solar system to solar system at will, obviously they have extremely advanced technology by our standards, and if we were to combat them, it would be like a small child trying to engage an adult, high level martial arts expert in a hand to hand combat scenario.

Dr. Greer's project was gaining momentum in 2000 and 2001 until the events of 9/11. After 9/11 came the war in Afghanastan, then the new war in Iraq, which only DIVERTED the entire world's attention in a completely different direction. Since then, I dont think the project has made any serious progress. I for one believe that what Dr. Greer and these other former US military officials testify to, COULD be reality, but I can only speculate from my friggin computer, obviously. Anyway, the cover-up, and the corruption of America runs very deep, and in the end, it is usually about gaining a financial profit.

The technology acquired from UFO crash sites could actually help to eliminate the crisis of global warming, and could also permanantly give us fuel without having to fight and die for it in various war scenarios.

ALSO: Most of us know that people in the space organizations like NASA are actually sending out radio frequency transmissions into the galaxy, hoping to get a reply. Well we have been receiving REPLY transmissions, at an increasing frequency. Suppossedly this fact has been erased.

We can't really know yet. But the odds are pretty good that there is life on other planets. The equation to estimate this number is called the Drake Equation. You can see the details, and play with estimations at the link below.

I think there are BUT they have not come here yet. All those people who claim to have been abducted are either pathological liars or have mental health issues. Think about it: out of the whole entire universe, we are the only living things on this little tiny planet we call Earth? I don't think so.

in case you advise area extraterrestrial beings, then certain there are almost easily different existence varieties accessible on different planets. yet, none of them have ever been the following. area is too massive, there are too many planets, for existence now to not be scattered with the help of the universe. in spite of the indisputable fact that, that similar wide length also signifies that planets are to date from the following that there is not any threat of a visit.

With the mass of stars in what we call the universe, it would be very difficult to imagine that we are the only living matter in it's vast expanse. Even in our own galaxy of millions of stars, it is still difficult to believe we are alone!
