Well we bought him a few months ago when he was only a few weeks old so maybe it is just his balls lol.

I would think that the 'lump' is to show that your hamster is a male! But it is difficult to say with not being able to seehim. There are many pet shop owner's who can't sex little animals, or big animals for that matter! When I got my rat Rose, I was told that she was a male! Have you compared your hamster to your other one, if they were both supposed to be boys? Do they look different? Maybe this one with the lump is a male and the other is a female ~ if this is the case the female will soon be pregnant! Hope this helps you. Best Wishes.

Lol sounds like what happened to me mate. I brought a hamster a long time ago and i was assured he was a he and guess what, he turned out to be a she!!!!

Anyway a lump by its tail could be cancerous and you should get this checked out!!! Dont mean to scare you, but even though Hamsters are so ting, if Tumours are caught earlier enough and your Hamster isnt elderly then they can safely remove it. There is always the risk that you could lose her or him. As with all small animals more so Hamsters, Rats, Mice, Guinniepigs and rabbits etc they dont always do too well under annasectic (cant spell it). But i would rather be safe than sorry. Get him/her checked out.

As for being pregnant i really dont know but your vet would defo be able to tell you.

Good luck

I agree with Caitlin. Boy hamsters do generally have very large boy bits. They are also prone to tumors. There is a chance that he may have been bitten by the other hamster and this has become infected. Take him either to the vet or back to the pet shop if you only bought him recently.

If it is a boy... well.. let me explain....

My sister got a male hamster last year. A few months in we noticed a "lump" near his rear end. It was pink, and we knew what it was right away... his balls. I know it sounds..... but check to make sure.

However, you should take your hamster to the vet if it isn't his balls, and see what the problem is, it could be something serious.

Hope this helps!

It could be its testicles. Boy hamsters have big balls. Sometimes they arent as noticeable on baby hamsters, but once they get a little older, they are quite noticeable. If its not the testicles, it could be a tumor or something.
