I stay in Yelahanka for the last three years, and have not seen any streetlighting being installed in any of these roads during this time.
Anybody who doesnt believe should travel in the following routes:
1. Bellary Road from Hebbal flyover to Devanahalli.
2. Bannerghatta Road from J.P Nagar crossing to Bannerghatta.
3. Hosur Road from Silk Board flyover to Attibele.

These roads have extremely heavy traffic. Doesnt anybody think that this could have disastrous effect like increased Accidents and Goondaism? Doesnt the BDA/BMP (i.e. GBMP now) understand the implications?

The reason is simple. Bangalorians are proud about their city and never think on the negative side. So politicians sleep and do nothing for the development of Bangalore

The govt is trying to save power and resources. As u said there is heavy traffic there and anyway the vehicles will be switching on their hi beam headlights. so why waste money installing street lights?
