Starmark is Mercedes-Benz sponsored (and operated) extended warranty. It is "almost" as good as the original warranty. It covers mostly drive train and other systems, but it does not cover what is considered trim items. For example, problem with seat may not be covered and there are many exclusions.

With that said, it is a very good deal if you are new to Mercedes-Benz. You take your car to the dealership and they'll take care of the problem. PERIOD. They are known to replace an entire engine under Starmark under certain circumstances. They will *usually* not give you run-arounds. It is good at any Mercedes-Benz authorized dealerships.

Yes, it is transferable.

You can go to www.mbusa.com and click on Starmark link. It will tell you all about it.

It is similar to GM's On Star and is renewable and transferable. I personally think it is a great thing for anyone who drives in remote areas.
